About Russell
Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side in the Bridgeport neighborhood, Russell Scalise spent 19 years as a pit trader in the S&P futures pit at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange before pursuing his lifelong passion for writing. After retiring from trading, he co-wrote and produced the feature films Baby on Board (2009) and The Dogfather (2010). A natural storyteller with a sharp sense of humor, Russell wrote 33rd and the Tracks to share and preserve the unforgettable stories and characters that shaped his life and his community.
